BREWER`S SPENT HOP POLYPHENOLS CHARACTERIZATION AND INDUSTRIAL EXPLOITATION
Abstract
Beer industry generates important amounts of by-products. Last decade forced industrials to improve waste management and studies focused the exploitation of these by-products in ones with added value. Brewing industry by products were transformed into cosmetical, pharmacological, food ingredients, feed products, chemicals used in agriculture or in energy production. Brewers` spent hops were successfully exploited in chemical industry, pharmacology, animal husbandry and food industry.
