ZONAL PROPINQUITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF THE AGRICULTURAL STRUCTURES FROM ROMANIA
Abstract
Using a new methodology of evaluation of the agricultural structures, this paperwork highlights the fact that in order to characterize the agricultural structures on development regions it is not sufficient to determine the average size of the agricultural exploitations. It is emphasized that such averages may result from very different distributions of the agricultural surfaces on size classes. The comparative computation highlights the fact that in all development regions of Romania, the agriculture is characterized by a strong phenomenon of polarization. This creates wrong perceptions concerning the degree of modernity of the agricultural structures in Romania. The average size of the exploitations by regions is small and very small. The degree of concentration of the agricultural surfaces in large size exploitations is however considerable. One appreciate that this indicator is more believable than the average size.Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:
