Perception of Communitarian Phytosanitary Quarantine Policies in View of Romanian Local Responsible Authorities

The aim of our study was testing the knowledge of Transylvanianauthorities risposnsble in the field, about the leve land particularities of the transposition of the EU legislation in thefield into Romanian legislation. The representatives of the County Phytosanitary Authorities from the counties Alba,BistriÅ£a-Năsăud, Brașov, Cluj, Covasna, Harghita, Maramureș, Mureș, Satu-Mare și Sălaj were interviewed using thequestionnaire method. Our study emphasizes that more than half, 54.80% respectively, of the respondents who haveknowledge of national and European Community legislation on plant protection and phytosanitary quarantine havegood and very good skills in this area. Even though, there is a high percentage, namely 18.20% of subjects who do nothave detailed knowledge relating to specific aspects related to phytosanitary quarantine.
