Preliminary Research in Ecosystem Services Valuation

Abstract


The primary structure of many forests of Apuseni Mountains is a tourist attraction by its outstanding landscapes, untouched habitats and the biodiversity of these ecosystems. The diversity, but also the multitude of natural and cultural or historic sites in the area encourages the development and success of various forms of tourism based on nature, with major contribution to the economic growth and development of the area. The study proposes as first assessment the importance and the role of ecosystem services in promoting tourist activities relying on nature at its best.
