Abstract

Vegetation, as soil protection factor, has a positive influence during the process of land degradation through both canopy that retains some of the water and through the root system that functions as a drain. The main objective of this study is to observe how Pinus nigra trees growing arranged degraded slopes. The observations and determinations regarding biometric characteristics conducted in this study were: total height; trunk thickness at soil level; trunk thickness above 1 m from soil level; trunk thickness above 1.5 m from soil level.
