Abstract

Genus Prunus is represented in crop by many species. Genetic variability of the species and varieties arising therefrom, requires assessment of growth differences, for knowing the biology of these plants. Genotypic and phenotypic differences serve to identify and assess agro-biological characteristics, in relation to environmental factors, to promote into the crop the most valuable and for their use in the breeding process. This paper argues identifying, quantifying and comparing different varieties of the species Prunus domestica, Prunus armeniaca and Prunus persica, in terms of growth, in the conditions of Northern Oltenia.
