Abstract

A study was carried out to examine the effect of mineral fertilizers on soil agrochemical indicators. The treatments were mineral in following doses: N50, N100, N150, N200and P50K50, P100K100, P150K150 and a control (no fertilizer). The result showed that only nitrogen fertilizer treatments lead to lower pH, cationic exchange capacity and degree of base saturation after cropping for three years. Total N decreased in all the plots after cropping. Available P increased from initial value of 16.3 ppm to 20.2 ppm where N200P150K150 fertilizer was added Exchangeable K decreased in all the plots fertilized with nitrogen fertilizer only , but incresed in plots fertilized with phosphorus and potassium mineral fertilizer.
