Abstract

A Microwave Plasma - Atomic Emission Spectroscopy method for the determination of selected metals and metalloids (Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Al, Pb, Co) in herbal tea infusions has been developed and validated. The limits of detection were in the range of 0.01-0.12 mg L-1. The method does not need a special sample treatment and was successfully applied to the analysis of 31 herbal teas available on Polish and Romanian markets.
