Monitoring the Behavior of the Tailing Ponds
Abstract
The activity of monitoring the behavior of land and buildings is very important and should take place since the beginning of the exploitation of the objective (land or building) and continue even after the end of exploitation of the objective. Some of the objectives that need monitoring are the tailing ponds, because of their importance of ensuring the safety of the exploitation and to avoid any negative effects on the environment. The monitoring activity consists of repeated measurements, rigorously processed according to principles of mathematical statistics, results interpretation and, if needed, taking the corresponding measures in order to avoid catastrophes.
