LEUCOCYTES QUANTITATIVE REACTIONS ON MALIGNANT TUMOURS PROGESSION IN DOGS
Abstract
There are presented the cytohematologic quantitative reactions (all leukocytes, lymphocytes, natural killer and dendritic cells cout) from the hematologic tests made on dogs on the course of different malignancies in the absence of any kind of therapy. The principal characteristic of the leucocytes reactions was the constant correlation between the cancer (unfavourable) progression and the decreasing of percent values of lymphocytes and the increasing of percent values of neutrophils. Others aspects are: leukopenia, lymphopenia, the absence of antigen-primed lymphocytes, the absence or low values of natural killer and dendritic cells. These manifestations shows a higher suppresion of cellular immunity sistem with principal anticancerous role, that is grow for the worse during the disease development. Monitoring the cytohaematological values in dynamics is extremely important for the veterinary oncologist in order to take the right medical measures (to prevent or stop the opportunist infections caused by the deficit immune syndrome) and to pronounce a prognostic in cancer disease.a) Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
