Author Guidelines

General

Manuscripts must be prepared according to Template BUASVM Animal Science, at least 11.5 line spacing with 2 pt before and 3 pt after spacing between the lines. Lines must be consecutively numbered from the start to the end of the manuscript. Good quality printouts with a font of Minion pro and font size of 10 are required according to the. Clearly indicate who is the corresponding author (with an asterisk) that will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication. The e-mail addresses of the corresponding author should be indicated under the affiliantions (e.g. * corresponding author: rsmith@uludag.edu). The Editors reserve the right to adjust style to certain standards of uniformity. Authors should retain a copy of their manuscript since we cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of papers.

 

Article structure For research papers the text should be divides into: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussions, Conclusions, Author Contributions, Funding Source, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interests and References. Place the Figures or Tables into your text close to its reference. Footnotes (except for table footnotes) should be identified with superscript Arabic numbers.

 

Title

○ Concise and informative.

○ Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.

The title of the paper should unambiguously reflect its contents. Where the title exceeds 120 characters a suggestion for an abbreviated running title should be given.

 

Authors’ names and affiliations

○ Clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author.

○ Present the authors' affiliation addresses below the names.

○ Indicate all affiliations with a lowercase superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address.

○ Provide the full postal address for all authors

Corresponding author: ○ Indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication.

○ Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date

○ Superscript Arabic numerals are used for the affiliation of each author.

 

Abstract

○ A concise and factual abstract is required.

○ Should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions.

○ References should be avoided.

○ The abstract should not exceed 200 words.

 

Main Text

Make sure you use uniform lettering and sizing of your original work.  Aim to use Minion Pro 10 font in your text and illustrations. Follow internationally accepted rules and conventions, and use the international system of units (SI).

 

Illustrations

○ Number the illustrations (TIFF or JPEG) according to their sequence in the text.

○ Color or grayscale photographs (halftones): minimum of 300 dpi (TIFF or JPEG):

○ Bitmapped (pure black & white pixels) line drawings, minimum of 1000 dpi (TIFF or JPEG):

○ Combinations bitmapped line/half-tone (color or grayscale) minimum of 500 dpi.

○ Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used.

Please do not

○ Supply files that are optimized for screen use (e.g., GIF, BMP, PICT, WPG);    

○ Supply files that are too low in resolution;

○ Submit graphics that are disproportionately large for the content.

Please insert the following text before the standard text - Photographs, charts and diagrams are all to be referred to as "Figure(s)" and should be numbered consecutively in the order to which they are referred. They should be included within the text. All illustrations should be clearly marked with the figure number and the author's name.

 

Color artwork

○ Should be an acceptable format TIFF (or JPEG), EPS (or PDF), or MS Office files) and with the correct resolution.

 

Tables

○ As editable text and not as images.

○ Tables can be placed next to the relevant text in the article.

○ Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body.

○ The data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article.

○ Please avoid using vertical rules.

 

References

Authors should cite the main scientific publications on which their work is based. The authors should attempt to limit the literature cited to a reasonable number of references ensuring that they fully absorbed the material they are referencing. Excessive self-citations should be avoided. Excessive citation of publications from the same region should be avoided as well. Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy of their references. References should be listed in alphabetical order according to Vancouver Style using Mendeley or other reference management software.

 

  • All citations mentioned in the text must be included in the References; also, all references listed must be mentioned in the text.
  • Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list, they should follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either “Unpublished results” or “Personal communication”.
  • Citation of a reference as “in press” implies that the item has been accepted for publication. For Web references the full URL should be given and the time and date when the reference was lastly accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given: ex. https://doi.org/10.3389/fpls.2021.626405. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.
  • All references should be written in English!
