Abstract

Barley is considered one of the oldest cultivated plants that played an important role in the development of human civilization, agronomic, physiological, genetic sciences and plant breeding. Since ancient times, barley was used for human food and animal feed. In addition to the already known uses, barley also has therapeutic qualities discovered over time. For therapeutic and medicinal purposes, barley can be consumed as juices or powder made from the young leaves of the plant, but also like barley water obtained from barley grains. The important effects of the green leaves on human health, was discovered by Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara, after a study of 150 different plants. Of all, green barley proved to be the most valuable for human body and also has an excellent therapeutic effect.
